With U.S.-based operational headquarters in Southfield, Michigan, Auria operates 16 manufacturing, 9 technical and 5 JV locations across 10 countries and employs approximately 3,900 people worldwide. We are currently searching for a Plant Controller to join our team at our Spartanburg Plant in Spartanburg, South CarolinaWhat you will do:
- The Plant Controller is responsible for the compliance of the safe work practices of their department and ensuring that their employees follow the safe work procedures to complete their assigned duties.
- Prepares Daily, Weekly & Monthly financial reports, monthly forecasts, annual operating plan, and overall strategic planning.
- Responsible for internal controls and SOX compliance at the plant level. Supervises Hourly Payroll.
- Assure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Policies. Resolve questions of GAAP and internal controls with corporate financial management.
- Analyze and accurately report current month’s financial results to the plant and corporate management in accordance with corporate format and time requirements.
- Reconcile all General Ledger accounts on a monthly basis. Submit all financial transactions, transmissions, and reporting on a timely and accurate basis.
- Identifies cost reduction and profit improvement opportunities and makes appropriate recommendations for implementing plans to address them.
- Coordinates any audits with the outside auditors and customer audits
- Ensure accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results. Investigate and explain book to physical adjustments.
- Analyze tooling project financials on a regular basis, report out to local and corporate management teams
- Perform audits of bills of materials and Routings to ensure product costs are accurate and accounted for properly.
- Ensure timely and accurate input of tooling project costs and recoveries.
- Attend daily plant production meetings.
- Preparation of capital forecasts with local management and submits them to corporate as required. Oversee maintenance of fixed asset ledger on FAS and balance to the General Ledger.
- Ensures timely and accurate reporting of government required information
- Assist in the completion of special projects

- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance required
- MBA and/or CPA preferred
- Minium of five years’ experience in manufacturing environment (preferably automotive) required
- Travel to other North America plants may be required for training, support, and meetings.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Must be able to analyze financial statements, interpret and recommend courses of action to assist management in the successful operating of the business.
- Must be willing to work in a team environment and function with little direct supervision.
