Come join our team of competent and compassionate professionals at Aurora Behavioral Health System. ABHS, Arizona's largest free-standing psychiatric hospital system, is currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses. Our Level 1, acute care psychiatric facility located in Tempe is licensed to treat adults and adolescents for a wide range of psychiatric conditions and chemical dependency. Our team is currently accepting applications for a HIM Director.
As a member of the management team, this department head will manage all functions of the Medical Records Department and will be able to demonstrate expert job knowledge in current coding regulations. Additionally, he / she serves as the Privacy Officer of the hospital, has advanced knowledge of HIPAA laws, and demonstrates effective decision-making and problem solving skills. Other duties include auditing medical records for accuracy and completeness, assigning appropriate ICD-10 diagnosis codes, and ensuring appropriate DRG assignment for inpatient services. Responsible for overseeing the release of information, this will cover records requests, audits, and state reporting. Must be able to maintain effective and professional communication skills, demonstrate excellent customer service, and contribute to a positive departmental image by exhibiting professionalism, adaptability, teamwork, and mutual respect.

Requirements
- A minimum of 3-5 years in the medical records field, preferably with behavioral health and substance abuse experience.
- At least 2 years' management experience preferred.
- Good understanding of CPT, ICD-10 coding, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology and disease process.
- PC skills-both keyboarding and applications.
Licensure / Certification credentials :
