What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employment Specialist (Job Coaching) - Eau Claire position at Aurora Community Services?
FLEXIBLE SCHEDULES
Consumer Advocacy
- Advocate for employment development to improve independence
- Ensure that consumer’s employment goal is clear, well defined, and achievable
- Act as a liaison between supervisor, consumer, and employer to appropriately communicate concerns and create successful employment outcomes
Responsibilities:
- Provide job-skill training/coaching to help consumers acquire and maintain independent employment
- Implement consumer’s individual employment plan
- Help to develop application, resume, cover letter, and interview/job skills
- Monitor employment progress by completing assessment activities that determine skill level, and identify existing or new barriers
- Complete daily/monthly reports and documentation based on observations of work performance, goal progress, job coaching hours, and any additional supportive information
- Transport consumers to employment locations
- Attend scheduled meetings/trainings and communicate professionally
- Protect consumer confidentiality
- Comply with all ARA and employment site safety standards
- Assist with personal care/medical needs as directed by supervisor
- Identify and report work hazards
- Other duties as assigned
Safe Transportation
We encourage our consumers to be as active as possible in the community; therefore, safe transportation is a vital part of the services we offer. Only licensed and qualified staff will transport individuals, and are expected to comply with all traffic laws and company policies during operation.
- Conduct a 360 degree walk-around to identify safety concerns prior to operating vehicle
- G.O.A.L. – Get Out and Look: Assure there are no hazards in the way
- Motor Vehicle Condition
- Check brakes, blinkers, tire pressure, fuel level, oil and other fluids
- Report all vehicle incidents and problems with company vehicles immediately
- Use a ‘spotter’ when backing vehicle when possible
- Utilize back up cameras to ensure safety
