Supply Chain Planning Analyst
Purpose:
The Supply Chain Planning Analyst is responsible for optimizing the planning, logistics, and financial efficiency of raw milk and cream supply across internal and external facilities. This role collaborates closely with production planners, logistics teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless alignment between supply and production needs. By leveraging data analysis, cost breakdowns, and process improvement initiatives, the analyst supports decision-making, enhances operational efficiency, and identifies cost-saving opportunities. Additionally, this role plays a key part in managing cream scheduling, maintaining supply chain alignment, and driving continuous improvement in inventory management and reporting tools. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and optimize supply chain operations.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with production planners to aid in overall raw milk planning for internal and external facilities
- Analyze raw milk logistics and farm trends, identifying opportunities to optimize supply chain processes.
- Run cost breakdown analysis to identify savings opportunities and support negotiations.
- Manage cream plans, including scheduling inbound and outbound cream load at various facilities.
- Coordinate with production managers to ensure that cream processing aligns with production schedules, avoiding production downtime or delays.
- Play a supporting role in the planning process and monthly updates
- Utilize tools such as Excel and PowerBI to organize data and create templates and dashboards to enhance processes, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and facilitate effective decision making.
- Coordinate with internal processing teams to align raw milk delivery schedules with production requirements.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on supply chain priorities and changes.
- Contribute to the development of process improvements related to receiving, processing, and inventory management of raw milk and cream
Other Required Responsibilities:
- Maintain good relationships with cross-functional teams by resolving issues and communicating relevant information to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by successfully completing educational courses and workshops relevant to the job.
- Plant operations are 24/7 – some tasks may require attention during non-business hours.
- Available for scheduled and non-scheduled travel.
Knowledge and Experience:
- BS in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or equivalent experience is required.
- 2 years of experience in supply chain planning, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in food production, dairy, or agriculture is a plus.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and supply chain planning tools. Knowledge of Infor M3 is preferred.
- Experience working with a TMS or logistics program – Ever.Ag is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and continuous process improvement.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing priorities is required
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work for extended periods in an office environment as well as spending their entire day on the plant floor. Walking, climbing, bending, stooping, and working in adverse environments will all be a requirement. Lift up to 50lbs at times. Able to travel via automobile or airline.
