Description
Aurora has an exciting opportunity to join our fast-paced, growing company as the Business Infrastructure & Operations Manager for the US. In this role, you will be working closely with senior operational stakeholders within the business including the Managing Director, NORAM. The role will formally report into the Chief Operating Officer and will have responsibility for business operations in North America, including planning and delivering the setup of additional offices in future. You will be responsible for ensuring the end-to-end operations in the US are fit for purpose, best practice, and scalable as we grow. Currently we have presence in two physical offices (Austin and Oakland) and one satellite office (New York).
The Business Infrastructure & Operations team is responsible for building and facilities (including occupational health and safety), office environment, personal and executive assistant support, and general business operations. They work closely with other core departments such as Finance, People & Culture, and IT.
To be successful in this role, you must be able to think bigger picture but at the same time you are not afraid to roll your sleeves up and get involved in the day-to-day operational work. In addition, you will need to be super organized, efficient and have great attention to detail.
We're looking for a high energy, results-driven individual with strong generalist experience across all aspects of business operations setup and delivery in an international business. You will know what good looks like and be able to shape initiatives that balance best practice with commercial and cultural requirements. The role has significant growth opportunities, as the company has intentions to set up further offices in the US. It is expected this role will develop into a senior regional leadership role as we build operational functions and teams across multiple countries in the North America region.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for business infrastructure and operations in Aurora's NORAM business
- Set, prioritize and review strategic objectives for the NORAM business infrastructure and operations team
- Line management of office management, facilities management and administrative operations staff in the US
- Work closely with the COO and Managing Director of NORAM to ensure smooth operations for the region and to represent NORAM interests with Aurora's global leadership
- Strategic management of supplier relationships
- Forecast, manage and monitor NORAM pay and non-pay budgets for the department.
- Implementation of appropriate policies and procedures to ensure smooth an efficient running of all operational aspects of the NORAM offices
- Identifying and understanding causes of inefficiency, proposing and implementing solutions with appropriate prioritization
- Coordinating cross-departmental projects in operational departments and defining cross-departmental processes
- Working with and feeding into other departments' projects
- Potential future responsibility for set up of further new offices in North America as and when needed, with support from head office
