About the Role :
The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to work in an autonomous, positive work environment, be motivated to learn from multiple clinicians to acquire new skills, and will thrive working with a collaborative team comprised of 5 attendings, 14 Advanced Practice Clinicians and Neurosurgery residents.
Opportunity to experience all aspects of Neurosurgery including : Complex Spine, Skull base, Minimally invasive surgery, Endovascular treatment of Neuro vascular disorders, Pediatric Neurosurgery and Neuro trauma.
Must be willing to work nights autonomously and be motivated to learn and collaborate with multiple providers.
Major Responsibilities :
- Evaluate and initiate work up for new outpatient consultations.
- Serve as a clinical expert and resource for the education of peers and other health professionals.
- Work collaboratively with the Neurosurgery team to maintain timely and appropriate communication with family members, house staff, other disciplines, and ancillary services.
- No call environment.
- Formulate a medical plan for the patient and review the plan with the rounding provider.
- Assist with coding and billing compliance.
- Participate in quality improvement and / or research initiatives for specific patient populations as appropriate.
