About the team.

The Intensive In-Home Team provides therapeutic interventions and behavioral coaching for youth aged 6 to 17 years and their families. We offer family-focused therapy in the home for children and adolescents with severe emotional and behavioral health demands. Our goal is to reduce the likelihood of out-of-home placement for youth who may be at risk of hospitalization or other community placements because of their mental health, as well as those transitioning home from higher levels of care, such as inpatient treatment or residential care.

The ideal candidate is direct and resourceful, relational, and able to be proactive by demonstrating initiative within the team and for the families they work with.

 

Salary for this role. The starting wage is based on experience and company equity. Paid bi-weekly.

  • $20.93 - $31.37 per hour

 

Bilingual Language Differential Pay. *Rate depends on language requirements for the position and the candidate's fluency. 

Employees will receive scheduled earnings on a bi-weekly basis, equivalent to 5% of their regular base rate (hourly or salaried), with a maximum amount of $3,000.00 per calendar year. The annual maximum amount will be prorated based on full-time equivalency (FTE). 

 

About the role.

The BHS partners with an in-home therapist by reinforcing skills and behaviors practiced with the therapist. The BHS connects the child and family with desired, community-based services and resources. The BHS also enhances caregiver and client executive skills such as managing time, focusing attention, regulating emotions, and reflecting on progress. In addition, Behavioral Health Specialists are responsible for: waitlist outreach, behavioral health screens, post-hospital assessments, safety plans, bridge care, case management, and crisis intervention.

 

Schedule.

We offer a hybrid work model where the BHS will work directly in client homes, in our office/outpatient setting, and remotely (conveniently in your own home!). At least 4 days per week in person (combination of time spent in client homes and in clinic) are required. Mondays are always in-office for a weekly team meeting.

 

Essential Functions:

Community-based

  • Independently implement skills coaching to clients and their caregivers in their home.
  • Provide community resource expertise to team and families, including identifying and working with community-based service providers and supports.
  • Engage with the family and the clinician in the collaborative family assessment process (i.e., use data from interviews, observations, interactions, and standardized measures to identify family strengths, needs, and demands).
  • Promote family stabilization by identifying all needed and desired services, integrating service needs into the Care Plan, and addressing barriers to services as they arise.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork in a timely and comprehensive manner to establish accurate clinical records.

All teams

  • Promote protective factors and support with accessing basic needs.
  • Implement behavioral modification plans with youth and caregivers.
  • Enhance caregiver executive functioning skills (e.g., planning, organizing, managing time, focusing attention, regulating emotions, reflecting on progress) as needed and in consultation with the clinician.
  • Engage in weekly individual, team, and group supervision as required by program manager.
  • Keep all appropriate documentation for clinical accountability and reimbursement.
  • Participate in other clinical and administrative activities as appropriate.
  • Maintain valid driver’s license and insurance.
  • Maintain a high level of ethical conduct regarding confidentiality, dual-relationships, and professional stature.

Qualifications


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in child development, psychology, nursing, human services, social work, or related field.
  • Preferred: Previous experience working with youth in a clinical setting (residential, day treatment, in-home services).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of children and families with diverse needs and interests.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children and families.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, work independently and be self-directed.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a positive rapport with children, families, district personnel and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Knowledge of school policies and procedures in working with students with disabilities; maintain confidentiality.

 

Required Vaccination and TB Test. 

At AMHR the health and safety of our clients and staff are our top priorities. As part of this commitment, all employees are required to receive an annual influenza (flu) shot and present a negative TB test result before their first day of work. Proof of both the flu shot and negative TB test must be provided on your first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions can be requested if necessary.
