Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking dedicated Outreach Van Drivers to support overnight transports for individuals in Adams County. In response to increasing transport requests and logistical challenges, we are expanding our team to ensure timely and efficient service. Van Drivers will provide safe and reliable transport for incoming and discharged clients using agency vans. Responsibilities include gathering basic health information, coordinating with pharmacies for client medications, and interacting with law enforcement, hospital personnel, and other community partners. This position primarily supports the Adams County team and will transition to monitoring client treatment progress in a 20-bed clinic once a permanent location is secured. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, adaptable in fast-paced environments, and passionate about serving the community. - $18.87 – $26.13 per hour.
- Swing Weekday (Mon-Thurs): $1.25/hour
- Swing Weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun): $1.75/hour
- Overnight Weekday (Monday - Thursday): $2.50/hour
- Overnight Weekend (Friday, Saturday & Sunday): $3.50/hour
- Overnight: Wednesday - Saturday, 9:00 pm - 7:00 am
- Employees will receive scheduled earnings on a bi-weekly basis, equivalent to 5% of their regular base rate (hourly or salaried), with a maximum amount of $3,000.00 per calendar year. The annual maximum amount will be prorated based on full-time equivalency (FTE).
- Respond to requests from contracted and approved agencies outside of organization for transportation of clients.
- Transport admitted clients to hospitals, aftercare or other approved services as directed.
- Monitor and care for persons being transported.
- Assist in maintaining Outreach vehicles.
- Assist in admission/discharge processes and taking vital signs.
- De-escalate clients in crisis situations.
- Maintain telephone contact with base facility and maintain legible and accurate written records.
- Provide professional interface with referral sources to help insure clients are referred appropriately and to maintain good relationships with referral sources.
- Assess clients as to alcohol/drug intoxication, general physical and behavioral health, level of motivation and other pertinent factors and transport to appropriate facility.
- Staff member will complete needed care coordination tasks for their assigned role.
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED
- Valid Colorado Driver's License with a driving record that meets organization's requirements.
- Entry level position with no specific experience.
- Preferred: Six months prior transporting experience.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within six months' of hire.
- Ability to perform or learn to perform basic vehicle maintenance.
