Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a dedicated Peer Support Lead for the Community Connections program, a peer-run, client-driven initiative grounded in SAMHSAs 8 Dimensions of Wellness. This role empowers clients in their recovery journey by assisting with life skills, supporting recovery goals, mentoring peer team members, and promoting peer training certification. Salary for this role. Starting wage is based on experience and company equity. Paid bi-weekly.
- $19.70 to $28.52 hourly
Schedule. This position is fully Onsite/In-person. The schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Essential Functions:
- Support peers goals and successes to ensure peers are meeting the needs of their clients and their teams through adjunctive supervision.
- Conduct onboarding procedures specific to Peer Support.
- Coordinate and schedule Peer-specific trainings and certifications.
- Coordinate and host internal trainings and workshops for coding, note taking, etc.
- Collaborate with peers that are embedded in teams and with their managers.
- Provide feedback regarding peer services structure and opportunities for growth and development.
Peer Functions:
- Maintain a caseload of approximately 10 clients, dependent on program need.
Lead Functions:
- Plan and lead monthly formal training for peer specialists across programs.
- Facilitate periodic team meetings for peers with a 0.5 FTE or higher.
- Conduct structured supervision around peer issues in partnership with managers.
- Develop a communication structure between peers and managers.
- Work in tandem with manager to address and resolve disciplinary issues.
- Attend their own supervision meetings in alignment with direct supervisors expectations. Design and implement a structure for receiving and assigning referrals.
- Collaborate with Managers and peers to attend staff meetings with each peer, as needed.
- Collaborate with external agencies around peer best practices. Attend staff meetings as necessary based on client need.
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Valid Colorado Drivers Licenses with a clean driving record.
- Lived personal experience, or experience caring for someone with lived experience, with managing mental health symptoms, substance use, or homelessness, or more than one of those conditions.
- Colorado Peer and Family Specialist Certification and the Peer Recovery Coaches certification or equivalent. If selected applicant does not have, they will obtain credential within six months of beginning the role.
- Proficient in basic Microsoft Office functions.
- Good communication skills, with focus on in person, verbal communication.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and in multiple locations.
Required Vaccination and TB Test.
