The Technical Sales Support Specialist will assist in resolving customer inquiries, finding technical documentation and drawings, coordinating between internal teams, and ensuring customer follow-ups are handled promptly. This position is crucial in supporting the sales team with technical knowledge and project coordination, contributing to the overall success of customer relationships and sales goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaison between Sales and Engineering: Act as the primary point of contact between sales and engineering teams to facilitate the communication of technical information.
- Technical Documentation: Assist in finding and managing technical drawings, specifications, and other documents required for customer projects and sales.
- Customer Interaction: Support the sales team during customer meetings by taking notes, answering technical questions, and providing follow-up as needed.
- Project Coordination: Track and manage the progress of customer requests, ensuring timely completion of action items between the sales and engineering departments.
- Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain a strong understanding of our products and solutions to answer customer inquiries and support sales efforts.
- Follow-up & Reporting: Ensure prompt follow-up with customers regarding their technical requests, and provide regular status updates to the sales team and other relevant stakeholders.
- Proposal Support: Assist with the preparation of technical proposals, quotes, and presentations for customer meetings.
- Problem Solving: Address and troubleshoot any technical issues that arise during the sales process and liaise with the engineering team for resolution.
Qualifications:
- Education: A diploma or degree in Engineering, Technical Sales, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in a technical sales support or coordinator role, ideally in the construction, agriculture, HVAC, or manufacturing industries.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications, and documents.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with customers and internal teams.
- Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Proactive in identifying issues and working collaboratively to resolve them.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM software (such as Salesforce) or project management tools is an asset.
- Team Player: Ability to work well in a collaborative environment across multiple departments.
