Summary:
The Senior Budget Analyst is the lead budget analyst, performing highly complex data analysis,
advanced budget planning, and in-depth financial research to support critical decision-making.
This role oversees the full range of budgetary analysis and financial planning, maintains multi-
year financial forecasts, and provides strategic guidance to the Budget Manager and Finance
department. The position is central to strategic budgetary projects, annual budget
development, quarterly forecasts, trend analysis, and process improvement initiatives
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Daily 30%
Collects and synthesizes data on designated departmental functions
Enhance district budgeting processes and procedures by examining and
updating systems, programs, and data to improve efficiency and
effectiveness.
Daily 30%
Evaluates departmental budget requests and develops
recommendations for the Budget Manager. Analyzes district finances,
including salaries and benefits, to project future expenditures and fund
balances. Advises stakeholders and authorities on funding limitations
due to state and federal laws and District Board Policy.
Yearly 30%
Leads budget analysis and stakeholder engagement, overseeing
budgeting system data synthesis and integrity. Mentors team members,
contributes to Comprehensive Annual Budget and mid-year budget
realignment, and collaborates with experts to deliver accurate, data-
driven financial recommendations that support strategic decision-
making across the district.
Yearly 5%
Conducts comprehensive budget analysis, including preparing periodic
written reports, forecasting future expenditures and fund balances, and
projecting staffing costs. Collaborates with supervisors to refine
recommendations, ensuring alignment with the District Strategic Plan
and objectives, and advises leadership on financial implications of
various scenarios to support informed decision-making.
Daily 5% Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND
TRAINING:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or related
Field Preferred Or With Equivalent Work Experience And Advanced
training.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of five years’ experience in accounting and
budgeting. School district or other government financial
Experience Preferred.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE,
EQUIPMENT & OTHER:
Oral and written communication, interpersonal, analytical,
attention to detail and math skills. Advanced operating
knowledge of and experience with computerized accounting and
general office equipment and computer systems such as Oracle,
Microsoft Office, and District student database (student
Information System). English Language Skills Required. Financial
planning and analysis experience is required including budgeting
and forecasting for large governmental organizations. Forecast,
Modeling, And What-if-analysis Experience Required.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Acts as a technical
resource for accounting and budgeting related issues, including
