Job Description

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Job Specialty : Nursing - RN Medical Center

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-hour Night Shift (36 hours per week)

Guaranteed Hours : Not specified

Experience : RN : 2 years preferred - 1 year with strong skills

License : Registered Nurse License

Certifications : BLS for RNs and CNAs

Must-Have :

Experience with insulin, heparin, Lasix, chest tubes, traches, wound vacs, NG tubes, and JP drains

Job Description :

Work in a Level III Trauma Center and Level III NICU with Magnet Designation and Comprehensive Stroke Center

General Med / Surg population care including COVID, wound care, COPD, CHF, diabetes, and chest tubes

RN Patient Ratios : Days 3-5, Nights 6-8

Tech Patient Ratios : Days 6-8, Nights 6-8

Support includes a charge nurse (who takes patient assignments), unit secretary, 24 / 7 hospitalist, RT support, and centralized telemetry monitoring

Utilize EPIC charting system and GE monitors, preferred experience with Alaris and Pyxis

Floating to other MedSurg areas and ED Holding with a 1 : 4 ratio

Participate in a weekend rotation every other weekend; up to 7 days off with manager approval

Must document pain level before and after administering pain medications; adhere to pain score guidelines with medication orders

Scrub color is flexible, excluding camo or denim

Orientation is available for 1-2 shifts based on comfort level. No on-call duty is required, and holiday work is expected every other holiday.
