We are seeking a go-getter candidate to join our Custodial Maintenance team to help keep our shop clean, organized, and safe for all of our employees. This position has openings on 1st and 2nd shift at our Headquarters facility.
- 1st Shift is from 7am - 4pm, M-F
- 2nd Shift is from 4:00pm - 1:00am, M-F
Job Description:
- Maintain an organized and stocked supply closet
- Always demonstrate professional and friendly conduct
- Clean internal and external areas of buildings (i.e. sweep, mop, vacuum, wipe down equipment, etc.)
- Empty trash receptacles and consolidate trash for weekly pickup
- Mix chemicals used for equipment or cleaning
- Replenish restrooms supplies
- Clean and sanitize restrooms daily
- Clean dust collectors and change filters
- Check and maintain oil levels on all machines
- Check and maintain fuel levels on forklifts and golf carts
- Clean and disinfect bloodborne pathogens or other potentially infectious materials
- Shovel snow from sidewalks and treat with salt
- Demonstrate necessary precautions when handling hazardous materials and dangerous equipment
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of how to work with a team
- Ability to complete custodial tasks in a professional, friendly, and positive manner
- Ability to safely maintenance heavy machinery
- Ability to exercise caution when handling hazardous materials
- Ability to remain productive and complete specific duties without direct supervision
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems and make decisions
- Knowledge of safety management principles (Federal and State OSHA regulations)
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing and walking for 8 or more hours per day
- Frequent reaching and the use of arms in repetitive motions for cleaning (sweeping, mopping, wiping)
- Frequent bending and squatting
- Ability to repeatedly lift materials (up to 50 pounds) from the ground, carts, and shelves
- Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals requiring special clothing and/or personal protective equipment
- Ability to perform duties outside in varying conditions including both heat and cold
- Ability to work in an indoor environment without climate control
