We’re searching for an Autonomous Vehicle Operations Specialist who will play a crucial role in our Vehicle Operations team, executing on road and closed course testing across our truck and vehicle platforms, with a focus on safety and attention to detail. We’re searching for an Autonomous Vehicle Operations Specialist who will play a crucial role in our Vehicle Operations team, executing on road and closed course testing across our truck and vehicle platforms, with a focus on safety and attention to detail. Your thoughtful feedback, delivered directly to engineers, will measurably improve our product.
In this role, you will
- Safely pilot and copilot autonomous vehicles for on road and closed course testing
- Safely copilot autonomous trucks for on road and closed course testing
- Log real time feedback regarding autonomy and platform performance during testing, to be delivered to engineers
- Escalate operational blockers with suggested solutions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams throughout Aurora to help drive progress on Aurora’s mission
- Demonstrate positive impact at Aurora by working on cross-functional projects as time permits
- Maintain up to date knowledge of how our self-driving technology works. Understand daily software and operational changes.
- Work toward quantitative and qualitative goals that impact all of Vehicle Operations and Aurora
- Interact with the public as an ambassador for Aurora
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and make strategic decisions proactively
- Consistent focus on safety
- Ability to think critically
- Willingness to learn every day
- Ability to monitor cutting edge software on a laptop and type in a moving vehicle, for extended periods of time
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with at least 5 years of driving history and a clean driving record, validated by MVR check
- Must pass initial and random drug and alcohol screenings
- Ability to travel as needed, including up to 25% across or out-of-state travel per month
- Available to work day or night shifts
- Ability to work early mornings or late nights, on rotating shifts
- Ability to work regular overtime and some weekends
- 80% of shift time spent in vehicle (vehicle as office)
- Inquisitive attitude, interested in problem solving, and solving puzzles
- Experience in operations, technology, customer service, or automotive field.
- Experience working in a collaborative environment - team player
- Proficient in G-Suite
- Command line interface experience
- Interest and aptitude for technology tools - apps, gaming, adobe creative suite, etc.

Salary : $27 - $34
