Description
The Maintenance Planner reports directly to the Maintenance & Reliability Manager and is responsible for the assistance of coordination of site maintenance activities, and various maintenance projects necessary to support plant operations such as planning, scheduling, logistics and coordination of the site’s Daily, weekly, Shutdown and Contractor Maintenance activities.

- Completes and closes maintenance work orders within a timely manner to ensure accuracy and finalization
- Assists with managing the maintenance annual budget and overall maintenance costs
- Schedules for contractor work for planned and unplanned activities
- Lead bi-weekly maintenance planning meetings with operations, engineering, and planning
- Creates, implements and monitors work processes to achieve compliance to OSHA regulations, cGMP regulations, and corporate standards
- Implements, monitors, and manages the CMMS system for preventative maintenance activities throughout the facility
- Places orders of needed maintenance/operation supplies and parts and ensures that facility inventory is adequate and optimum to meet business needs
- Communicates regularly with operations, maintenance, and staff of status of current projects and proactive in communicating needs for upcoming projects
- Provides input to management and suggestions for productivity ideas/improvements
- Responsible for notifying the Production Manager of any problems or issues with inventory or planning
- Ensures safe work practices are implemented at all times throughout the entire facility
- Supports all company safety, health, environmental, and quality programs and polices
- Maintains a high level of internal and external customer service and work performance
- Works closely with site Maintenance and Operations personnel on a daily basis
- Tracks and reports planning metrics as required
- Maintains cleanliness throughout the entire facility through implementation and execution of strong housekeeping practices
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements
- Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly
- Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times
- Active participation in continuous improvement activities
- Participates in problem-solving
- Takes responsibility and ownership for own learning and development in the spirit of continuous improvement of both self and the business
- Assists in the training, mentoring, and assessment of other team members
- Exercises autonomy and judgement subject to overall direction or guidance
- High School Diploma or equivalent required (Degree in Operations/Maintenance related field or Maintenance related certification desirable, but not required)
- 3 years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing setting
- Chemical manufacturing experience preferred
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze technical data and execute creative and balanced decisions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work successfully in cross-functional teams
- Flexibility to work in both office and operating plant environments in a wide variety of activities
- OSHA knowledge is beneficial
- SAP/CMMS System software knowledge is beneficial
