Your Role:
The Trails and Grounds Staff Member ensures the safety, upkeep, and functionality of our trail systems and general grounds. You’ll collaborate closely with the Head of Maintenance and other team members to maintain the natural beauty and accessibility of Ausable Chasm.
Key Responsibilities:
Trail Maintenance & Safety:
- Maintain trails and grounds areas to ensure safety and usability for guests.
- Regularly clear debris, repair paths, and address hazards using tools such as push brooms, rakes, and leaf blowers.
- Monitor trail conditions and report issues requiring immediate attention.
Property Upkeep & Collaboration:
- Assist with landscaping, cleaning, and upkeep of surrounding property to enhance the guest experience.
- Work with the Maintenance Department on special projects, ensuring seamless coordination.
- Operate hand tools and equipment efficiently and responsibly.
Teamwork & Communication:
- Communicate effectively with guides, managers, and co-workers to prioritize tasks and share updates.
- Participate in regular progress meetings to review goals, challenges, and successes.
- Assist other departments as needed to ensure smooth operations across all areas of Ausable Chasm.
General Duties:
- Stay updated on relevant skills and procedures to perform tasks effectively.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance for yourself and your workspace.
- Meet deadlines and manage tasks independently without constant supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and guests.
