This dynamic role will lead client engagement to identify value-creation opportunities while overseeing the office’s technical performance and driving innovation and best practices in minerals & metals projects.
About The Role
- Participate in technical stage-gate reviews within each study on key areas such as process design, general layouts, bulk quantities, capital/operating costs, financial model and final NI 43-101 reporting.
- Monitor the business environment for the Southwest US and track relevant trends for consideration in the group business plan.
- Lead the effort in developing new client relationships relevant to the group. Work with Business Development to identify, evaluate, and respond to opportunities, ensuring alignment with company direction.
- In conjunction with Study Managers, develop project scope based on understanding of key clients’ businesses and operational needs.
- Contribute to the successful planning and execution of Ausenco studies/projects across the region relative to the client’s business needs by providing broad or specific guidance in the group’s area of expertise, as needed.
- Set clear expectations for tasks and performance for your team, keep track of their progress, and providing support or guidance when needed.
- Proven leadership skills, with previous leadership training considered a strong asset.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with a commitment to technical excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical, metallurgical, or mining Engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience developing studies, predominantly within the minerals & metals industry.
- Deep expertise in engineering technology, with a passion for precision that inspires others to uphold the highest standards.
- Enthusiastic about identifying and pursuing business opportunities, including presenting at conferences and seminars.
- A natural motivator who fosters team pride, encouraging engineers to showcase their talents and achievements.
- Strong project controls acumen, ensuring a well-managed engineering group through budget, schedule, and progress oversight, with the ability to troubleshoot effectively.
- Commercially savvy, with experience driving business growth by developing and executing strategic market segment plans for new and existing clients.
