The Academy for Urban School Leadership (AUSL) is a non-profit organization that provides equity-focused programming to improve educational outcomes for students in underinvested communities. Through our nationally recognized teacher residency, we develop high-quality, passionate educators in hard-to-fill subject areas. Founded in Chicago, IL, AUSL became the first urban teacher residency in 2001 and the nation’s first in-district innovation zone in 2006. In addition, AUSL also offers value-add consulting services to school districts across the country, combining our knowledge of instructional design, leadership, and family engagement practices to galvanize school communities for optimal learning outcomes. About the Role

The Vice President of Growth is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategies to drive the expansion of AUSL’s Teacher Residency and Consulting services, including identifying new market opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships, and collaborating across the organization to drive sustained growth and impact. Reporting to the Executive Director, the VP of Growth will develop a comprehensive growth strategy and pursue new partnership opportunities with school Districts that increase AUSL’s earned revenue and expand our impact. The right candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working at both the strategic and tactical levels, and be a great relationship-builder. The right candidate will be a skilled, persuasive communicator and have experience building new partnerships with school districts. They will believe deeply in AUSL’s mission and will play a key role in expanding our impact!

Responsibilities

• Develop a growth strategy for AUSL’s Teacher Residency and Consulting services, in close collaboration with the Executive Director
• Set and achieve earned revenue and partnership expansion goals in support of AUSL’s mission
• Lead the charge in developing new partnerships with school districts nationwide to transform the way Districts recruit, train, and retain high-quality educators
• Great relationship-builder, comfortable engaging consultatively with senior school district leaders

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in high-level sales and/or business development roles, with a track record of leading growth and expansion outcomes (preference for prior business development/sales management experience)
• A proven track record of meeting growth objectives
• Great relationship-building skills
• Tenacity
• Preference for being located in Chicago and/or the Midwest
• Willingness to travel, up to 50% of the time
• Deeply committed to AUSL’s mission
