Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Scribe to join our healthcare team. The Medical Scribe will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers by accurately documenting patient encounters and ensuring the smooth operation of medical records. This position is vital in enhancing patient care and improving workflow efficiency within our medical facility, which includes both Level I and Level II Trauma Centers.
Responsibilities
- Accurately document patient histories, physical exams, and other relevant information during patient visits.
- Assist healthcare providers with medication administration and ensure proper documentation of procedures.
- Maintain organized medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure effective communication regarding patient care.
- Support coding and billing processes by providing accurate documentation for services rendered.
- Facilitate efficient patient service by managing appointment schedules and following up on necessary documentation.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on medical terminology, systems, and best practices.
Requirements
- Previous experience in medical administrative support or as a scribe is required.
- Familiarity with coding systems related to medical billing and insurance claims.
- BLS certified Preferred.
- Experience working in a medical-surgical environment or trauma center is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare setting while maintaining confidentiality.
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technologies.
