Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mentor and Teach: Serve as a positive role model for scholars, internalize and deliver rigorous, standard-aligned lesson plans using provided curriculum(s), and administer assessments to track and enhance scholar progress.
- Data-Driven Instruction: Use assessment data from numerous sources (such as MAP testing, Interim Assessments, and IXL diagnostics) to guide instructional decisions and improve scholar outcomes through differentiated support.
- Technology and Classroom Management: Leverage technology to enhance instruction and communication while implementing a consistent behavior management system aligned with restorative practices.
- Professional Development and Collaboration: Engage in ongoing training, meetings, and professional development to refine instructional practices and contribute to school initiatives.
- Community and Culture Building: Foster strong relationships with scholars and families, contribute to school culture, and support scholar activities and events.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or Texas teaching certification in relevant subject area
- Commitment to Austin Achieve’s mission, vision, and a “whatever it takes” mindset to support all scholars.
- Proven success teaching diverse learners, including emergent bilingual learners.
- Proficiency in using data to inform instruction, strong classroom management skills, and the ability to collaborate on lesson and unit planning.
- Native Spanish fluency preferred; strong computer skills and a desire to integrate technology into teaching.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and sit on the floor for extended periods.
- Lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Demonstrate fine motor skills for activities like writing, cutting, and using technology.
- Maintain energy and stamina to engage actively with scholars throughout the day.
- Respond quickly to the physical needs of children in a classroom or outdoor setting.
- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- This job can only be performed in person and is not eligible for remote or off-site work.
