THE INS AND OUTS OF BECOMING OUR BANQUET CAPTAIN
YOUR ROLE:
As the Banquet Captain at Austin Country Club, your day unfolds in a blend of organized chaos and precision. You start by setting staff shifts and training the team in customer service and etiquette, igniting their passion for excellence. Overseeing event setups, you transform spaces into stunning backdrops while coordinating seamless food and drink service with the kitchen. You monitor inventory, swiftly address guests' requests or complaints, and ensure the venue remains immaculate, all while adhering to safety regulations. With strong leadership guiding you, you navigate the bustling atmosphere, prioritizing guest comfort and creating unforgettable experiences that resonate long after the last toast.
OUR REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Degree in hospitality or similar is preferred
- 3 years of experience as a banquet captain or a similar position
- Physically fit with good stamina for physical tasks such as moving and lifting furniture and standing for long periods
- Willingness to work long hours, irregular shifts, and on weekends and holidays
- Excellent leadership abilities and the ability to manage many staff members
- Great time management and multitasking abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Bilingual proficiencies in both English and Spanish is highly desirable
- Ability to provide excellent customer service, even in stressful situations
