Electrical Support Engineer
The working Electrical Support Engineer will diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. This is accomplished by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Must have supervisor skills.
- Must have a working knowledge of the NEC that applies to sizing and ordering electrical material for equipment and building installations.
- Must have OSHA 70e arc flash knowledge and experience in the use and implementation of all categories.
- Must be able to open and work around 600 VAC electrical power control cabinets.
- Must be able to safely use Hot Stick to pull plant main 4160 VAC overhead power knife blades and reconnect.
- Must be able to work around manufacturing equipment, while in operation, and recognize when it safe to do so.
- Must have some experience with Microsoft Office.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
- Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment.
- Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds, climb ladders and stairs, and be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Expected to hold regular safety meetings, conduct daily plant audits, and follow all safety protocols.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education – no minimum education requirements.
Experience – 5-10 years of Journeyman level experience.
Must pass drug screen and background check, as condition of employment.
No Per Diem will be paid.
This is a temporary position.
