Senior Estimator - Austin Bridge & Road

Are you looking to put your strong, heavy civil construction estimating skills to use while building roads and bridges? Austin Bridge & Road is currently seeking a Senior Estimator for Heavy Civil/Heavy Highway construction to be located at our main office in Irving, Texas. Duties

The senior estimator will analyze plans and specifications in order to develop detailed cost estimates in accordance with current company policy and procedures. They will also supervise a small team of estimators as estimate requires.

• Assist in determining estimating pursuits
• Schedule and manage resources required for estimating and bidding process
• Review and analyze contract risk, initiate Austin contract review process (if required) and verify contract compliance and issue mitigation
• Oversee and participate in cost estimate preparation
• Coordinate with project owner as required to assure compliance with plans and specifications
• Review cost estimates of others to assure compliance with plans, specifications, and jobsite conditions
• Oversee pre-bid schedule preparation
• Coordinate and lead estimate review with appropriate operations manager
• Obtain and review quotations from business partners to confirm best price and work scope coverage
• Ensure timely and compliant bid submission
• Oversee project buyout and budget functions including negotiations with business partners
• Directly supervise a few estimators as estimate requires

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related degree
• 8 years’ experience working on heavy civil construction projects plus 5 years' experience of estimating
  • Heavy experience on structure projects
• Must have experience estimating projects in the heavy civil industry and/or TxDOT or DOT from another state
• Knowledge of HeavyBid by HCSS or other Estimating software
