Austin Industries has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer at our corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas. The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise network architecture. This role requires experience with Cisco, Juniper, or Aruba technologies, and a deep understanding of network performance monitoring and troubleshooting. This role will report to the Infrastructure and Cybersecurity Director.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement enterprise network architecture, including routing, switching, and wireless LAN.
- Manage WAN connectivity, including SDWAN and VPN (i.e., IPSec & SSL).
- Perform IPv4 subnetting and manage dynamic routing protocols (i.e., BGP, EIGRP, OSPF).
- Configure, implement, and manage Cisco routers and switches.
- Design and manage cloud network architecture (i.e., AWS or Azure).
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Manage wireless controllers (i.e., Cisco, Aruba) and firewalls (i.e., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto).
- Administer IDS/IPS (i.e., SNORT, Tipping Point, Cisco Firepower) and web filtering solutions.
- Implement network access control systems (i.e., Forescout, Fortinet, ClearPass) and cloud security platforms (i.e., Prisma, Zscaler, Menlo).
- Develop and maintain L2 and L3 networks.
- Configure and manage MPLS technology.
- Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Maintain Linux systems (i.e., Fedora, Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian).
- Use network monitoring tools (i.e., Nagios, Cacti, Zabbix, Manage Engine, SolarWinds).
- Ensure network security and manage system backups.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot network errors, track issues, and compile incident reports.
- Respond to user requests and provide network training.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud network architecture (i.e., AWS or Azure).
- Familiarity with network access control systems and cloud security platforms.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with a strong focus on building and maintaining positive relationships internally and externally.
- Have strong attention to detail and accuracy while managing multiple priorities under stress.
- Able to prioritize tasks and projects effectively, with excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills to accomplish desired results.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong critical thinking skills and detailed oriented.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in network engineering.
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or Aruba technologies.
- Strong knowledge of designing, configuring, managing, and maintaining L2 and L3 networks.
- Proficiency in network performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Candidates must possess at least one of the following valid certifications: CCIE, or equivalent.
- This role may occasionally travel to remote job sites or office locations on an as-needed basis.
