MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. One (1) year of related experience is required.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires incumbent to have general office skills, such as typing and filing, as well as basic understanding of the
policies and programs of their campus or office. Incumbent must be able to perform a wide variety of duties simultaneously
and respond to interruptions. This position requires the ability to operate office equipment such as computers,
calculators/adding machines, and copiers. Incumbent should have strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of campus
policies and procedures are necessary to respond to inquiries from parents, teachers, students, and other staff members.
Employees in this position must be able to read, write, and speak/communicate in English in order to receive and to provide
work-related information in a timely manner to other employees, supervisors, principals, school personnel, volunteers and
where appropriate, visitors and students.

JOB PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:

Incumbent performs detailed and varied clerical duties primarily related to attendance procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Responsible for campus attendance, using TEAMS (Online Attendance Program). Responsible for posting notes for

absences on TEAMS for teachers. Assemble and organize statistical data and types in final form.

  • Review and enter PEIMS Data for the campus. This includes data entry for all students, researching PID error reports,
and entering data on the Texas Education Agency (TEA) website. Make changes to student information as needed.

  • Register new students and complete all necessary paperwork and notifications related to registration. Elementary
campus clerks. Responsible for registering/withdrawing students, preparing paperwork (accumulation folders), and
assigning students to classroom.
  • Prepare tardy slips for students.
  • Assist with class Rosters, in order to promote perfect attendance.
  • Maintain student records and process requests for student information and transcripts. Process new student records,
including requesting transcripts and records from other schools. Withdraws students according to District protocol.
  • Assist parents, students, and faculty with questions regarding student attendance.
  • Contact parents/guardians to verify student absences as needed and report attendance problems to designated
administrator.
  • Generate and distribute excessive absence and tardy letters or other attendance related letters.
  • Compile, maintain, file, and distribute all reports, records, and other documents as required following established
procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Prepare necessary attendance reports for Child Accounting and Texas Education Agency (TEA).
  • Provide student absence information to Attendance Investigators and outside agencies.
  • Perform routine typing and clerical tasks.
  • Verify student addresses quarterly.

  • Provide an exceptional customer experience for all AISD stakeholders with intentional and professional practices that
promote a culture of respect and focus on achieving equitable outcomes.


OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED:

Perform other related duties as assigned; however, all employees are expected to comply with lawful directives in rare
situations driven by need where a team effort is required.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a standard office environment or in a school office environment. Frequent interruptions of work
interfere with concentration and task completion, and peak workloads occur every six (6) weeks. This position will require
extended periods of sitting and/or standing. This position may involve rare exposure to blood or body fluids. Regular
attendance is required for this position.

PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS:

Incumbent reports directly to the campus Principal and may supervise student aides. Incumbent will provide guidance and
consultation to teachers and other school staff members. Incumbent will have contact with Child Accounting regarding
student absences and provide information to outside agencies as well as Attendance Investigators.
