MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with at least five (5) years of administrative-
level experience, including a minimum of three (3) years as a successful campus principal as evidenced by whole-child student
outcome measures. Texas administrative/principal certification required. Bilingual preferred.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Incumbent must have demonstrated:
- A deep understanding of the urban school system environment and proven success in improving student
achievement and District systems to serve all students.
- Effective relationships with other principals and district staff members.
- Content knowledge and skill in implementing and maintaining different programs and initiatives, including, but not
limited to, balanced literacy, Social and Emotional Learning, cultural proficiency and inclusiveness, dual language,
problem-based learning, and technology integration; and
- Knowledge and skill in utilizing equity frameworks for decision-making and community engagement to ensure all
students have access to a high-quality learning environment.
This position requires knowledge and skill in the use of personal computers and commonly used software applications,
including Microsoft Suite and Google Suite. Incumbent must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in
writing. Employees in the position must be able to read, write and speak/communicate in English in order to receive and to

provide work-related information in a timely manner to other employees, supervisors, principals, school personnel,
volunteers and where appropriate, visitors and students.
JOB PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:
Incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the overall administration and educational leadership of the school(s)
assigned. Incumbent will work closely with district leadership and other key stakeholders to set the strategic direction for
the school, ensure academic excellence, and create a safe and supportive learning environment. This role requires a deep
understanding of education, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to high outcomes for every student.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Consistently work to reach and provide support to principals at all levels through four competencies (Instructional
Leadership, Talent Development, Executive Leadership, and Culture Building) of the AISD Leadership Framework. This
position is responsible for:
Instructional Leadership
- Support a standards-based and aligned curriculum that meets the needs of all students and student groups.
- Support the implementation of high-quality, effective classroom instructional strategies that improve performance of
- Coach and develop administrative team by providing actionable feedback to improve the quality of campus
- Ensure the use of student level data to drive continuous improvement ensuring every student has sufficient
- Establish mentorship cycle with administrative team members.
Talent Development
- Support campus recruiting and retention of high-quality staff.
- Co-evaluate administrative team for continuous improvement and accountability for results.
- Train, develop, and support a high-performing campus staff.
- Guide leadership capacity of campus staff.
- Develop strong administrative team mentor program.
- Oversight of effective leadership team development.
Executive Leadership
- Develop and support a shared vision of success.
- Assist with monitoring and tracking goals, targets and strategies aligned to the school vision that continually improves
school effectiveness and student outcomes.
- Establish and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Uses effective conflict-management and consensus-building skills.
- Serv as a thought partner with campus administrative team on effective decision making that support campus goals
and strategies.
- Oversight of resources (people, financial, equipment) effectively to support the organizational goals.
- Guide in compliance of funds management with state and federal guidelines, while maximizing the goals of the
campus.

- Management of campus facilities, equipment and support systems operate safely, efficiently and effectively.
- Develop a supportive, secure, and respectful learning environment that ensures the social, emotional and physical
well-being of staff and students with focus on administrative staff.
Culture Building
- Develop, implement, and sustain a shared vision of high expectations for all students and staff, including stressing the
importance of daily attendance for both students and staff.
- Establish, reinforce, and monitor clear expectations for adult, staff, and student conduct, including social and
emotional supports.
- Engage families and community members in meaningful student learning experiences.
- Create a safe school environment that ensures the social, emotional, and physical well-being of staff and students.
- Apply a variety of student discipline techniques to meet the behavioral and academic needs of individual students.
Additional Duties include:
- Oversight of relationship development with all stakeholders.
- Model and promote the highest standard of conduct, ethical principles and integrity in decision-making, actions and
behaviors.
- Maintain personal and professional growth and meaningfully contribute to the growth of others.
- Liaison with central office departments.
- Oversight of operational aspects of assigned campus(es), to include construction.
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED:
Perform other related duties as assigned; however, all employees are expected to comply with lawful directives in rare
situations driven by need where a team effort is required.

PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS:
This position reports directly to the appropriate supervisor of the department based on campus assignments and ultimately
to the Chief to provide information, status reports and receive instruction and guidance. Incumbent has regular contact with
district administrators and other Austin ISD staff.
