MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Master’s degree from an accredited university or college in education is required. A valid Texas Principal or Mid-
Management certificate is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of successful secondary classroom teaching experience
and three (3) years of successful experience as a secondary campus administrator is preferred. Experience working with
youth in a classroom, after school, or recreation environment is preferred.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
The Administrative Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining the coordination, implementation, and administration of
all out-of-school time enrichment/academic programs. The specific duties of the Administrative Supervisor include program
development and management (including staff), carrying forth prudent fiscal management, grant management and writing,
participation in staff development, working with Austin Public Health, and offsite collaborations. They will provide a safe,
nurturing, and well-supervised after school program; be the liaison with parents, collaborators, school management,
volunteers, and visitors to display the program positively. This position requires demonstrated leadership skills and the
ability to troubleshoot complex problems. Incumbent must be able to work effectively and build collaboration at school
sites and central administrative levels. Incumbent must have the ability to analyze detailed information, coordinate projects
and programs, work with others in a team environment, organize and maintain records and manage time and resources
effectively and efficiently. This position requires effective communication/presentation skills and skilled use of Microsoft
Office; ability to use technology proficiently, preferable with cross-platform experience. This position also requires
knowledge and skill in the use of personal computers. Incumbent must understand how to analyze data and use results to
facilitate instruction. Incumbent will demonstrate leadership qualities, interpersonal skills, and personal characteristics
necessary for working effectively with students, new and experienced teachers, parents, and administrators. Incumbent

JOB PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY
The Administrative Supervisor is responsible for the collection of program data, providing reports for contract compliance,
and assisting with administrative support. An Administrative Supervisor’s ability to establish authority through leadership,
communication, and most importantly patience will be required in giving the staff and students the stability and nurturing
atmosphere they need to succeed. The Administrative Supervisor shall also represent Austin Independent School District in
the community and serve on site and/or organization committees, as needed/requested. As a District supportive employee,
the Administrative Supervisor position is a City of Austin funded position, based upon the school district calendar year. The
Administrative Supervisor is responsible to understand and abide by the school District requirements. This position will
oversee the development and sustainability of the Student Support Services model across the Austin Independent School
District. This role is designed to support campuses and partners that have instituted practices in AISD, help campuses work
with partners to create new efforts, and facilitate the development of an integrated system of supports for children, youth
and families served by AISD. By its nature, the role works with the City, County, community-based organizations, business
faith-based organizations, higher education, families, communities, and other stakeholders to develop collaborative
governance and operational structures that support a Student Support Services framework. This includes, ensuring the
sustainability of the framework, providing oversight and accountability, developing agreed upon standards of practice for
partnerships and services provision, and engaging in ongoing evaluation. Incumbent will solidify partnerships both within
and outside of the District, enhance communication, and optimize the use of internal and external resources to reduce
barriers to learning for AISD students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provided strong grant management and writing skills.

- Communicate with staff, parents, and school administration on a regular basis regarding program activities.
- Design program schedules/calendars together with team that includes a variety of educational, enrichment, and

- Provide vision, leadership, and oversight in planning, building, implementing, and evaluating Student Support Services
- Serve as support lead for assigned department programs, K-12.
- Perform classroom observations and staff evaluation as needed.
- Collaborate with District and community partners to develop new planning and implementation teams to support

- Make recommendations for policy related to Student Support Services and District-wide collaboration to District
- Develop governance and operational structures that are representative and collaborative, with leadership and
based organizations, business, higher education, philanthropic partners, families, communities, and other stakeholders
to ensure the following:
o Institutionalization of the Student Support Services approach in the District
o Fiscal sustainability
o Compliance with District policies and practices as well as any laws or codes
o Regular oversight and accountability
o Strong coordination of services that are integrated and aligned to schools
o Adherence to best practices
o Equity and accessibility to services
o Comprehensive evaluation
- Work collaboratively with other city, county, state, and federal agencies to remove barriers and improve access for the
- Work collaboratively with a wide array of nonprofit, faith-based, educational, and philanthropic organizations to
children, youth and families served by the District have access to a seamless web of services and supports that
facilitate student achievement and well-being.
- Facilitate cross-boundary relationships between school sites and District departments to support the integration,
partners, including the Office School Leadership, the Parent Support Office and as a strong team member within the
Department of Communications and Community Engagement
- Facilitate planning and implementation of professional development programs for District and campus staff in
- Serving as a representative and/or facilitating District-wide initiatives and planning groups as directed by District
- Initiate and collaborate on development and writing of grant proposals and submission of reports to funding sources to
- Participate in the evaluation of the Student Support Services initiative to determine fidelity to plan and the efficacy of
