JOB TITLE: GF SPECIALIST CAREER AND TECHNICAL ED FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT
PAY GRADE: PRF 2 DUTY DAYS: 226 DATE REVISED: 03/13/2025 HC
FUNDING THIS POSITION IS PARTIALLY OR LOCALLY FUNDED. EMPLOYMENT IS CONTINGENT UPON AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university is required.
This position requires a minimum of 3 years Career and Technical Education (CTE) classroom experience.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Incumbent must have a working knowledge of four-year plans, CTE endorsements, and CTE clusters as well as knowledge of
the Perkins Act and House Bill Five. This position requires knowledge of current education and instructional theories,
methodologies, techniques, and principles. Incumbent must have the ability to coordinate projects and programs for a
substantial number of schools, students, and families. Incumbent must be able to communicate effectively, work with others
as a team, organize and maintain records, evaluate performance, provide constructive feedback, and manage time and
resources effectively and efficiently. Work requires creativity and adaptive thinking to match program objectives.
JOB PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:
The primary purpose is to provide and coordinate career development services for students participating in CTE. Incumbent is
responsible for training all District Practicum teachers on roles and responsibilities of Work-based Learning (WBL). Must work
with all District Practicum teachers to complete and maintain training plans for all practicum students (on AISD campus).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain all CTE training plan records per TEA standards.
- Manage Practicum site visits for Practicum teachers including the Student Master List.
- Prepare, update, and manage student interest packets for Practicum classes.
- Serve as District Practicum liaison for all practicum sites.
- Maintain relationships with current Practicum sites and develop more Practicum site opportunities.
- Develop WBL opportunities in addition to the Practicum sites by visiting Business and Industry partners.
- Serve as the AISD CTE student internship lead. Develop internship opportunities for CTE students and develop and
- CTE Capstone Projects lead – Develop Capstone Project guidelines and implementation strategies.
- Process Pre and Final Travel requests for CTE teachers participating in Practicum site visits, field trips, professional
- Assist the CTE team with development and implementation of professional development events, focus groups, or any
- Promote career awareness, exploration, and planning.
- Coordinate career planning activities in classrooms, groups, or individual sessions.
- Provide information on postsecondary education programs and employment opportunities.
- Promote the integration of career research and work-based learning opportunities into CTE and academic courses.
- Facilitate business, education, and community partnerships that provide opportunities for students and support CTE.
- Publicize partnership resources.
- Participate in professional development activities at the local, regional, state, and national levels.
- Engage in professional growth opportunities to remain current with trends, demands, and emerging careers in a rapidly
changing workforce.

Incumbent receives regular administrative supervision. It is expected that some incumbents will be more involved than others in
planning and coordinating program activities. Supervisor may provide detailed instruction regarding changes in policies,
procedures, or laws, or in reference to unusual circumstances or problems. Incumbent has significant contact with principals,
teachers, parents, and other school staff to offer guidance, exchange information, and develop programs. Incumbent may also
maintain contacts within the community to develop programs and utilize additional instructional methodologies.
