Austin Industrial is looking for a qualified HSE Professional to join our team based in Decatur, IL. This position will provide leadership to Austin with regard to all aspects of Health, Safety & Environmental. The position provides direct oversight, leadership and direction to a region of up to 5 to 7 sites. Through execution of responsibilities, this individual guides HSE performance and culture to a best in class level to eliminate incidents and accidents.

Responsibilities:
- Support the vision and strategy of the HSE department.
- Guide, direct, coach, and assist site safety personnel.
- Provide direct HSE oversight and audit of assigned sites and projects.
- Support company effort of visible leadership by visiting job sites and interacting with employee-owners and site and customer leadership.
- Oversee and support the regulatory compliance process.
- Oversee and support all of Austin HSE programs and process.
- Participate and delegate actions in support of company and HSE Objectives, initiatives, campaigns, and projects.
- Represent company with key strategic relationships, including but not limited to:
- NCCER, Area Safety Councils, Local Business Roundtable, etc.
- Organizational emergency preparedness
- Partner with Operations Management
- Manage the HSE onboarding process.
- Support the development of Area and site safety personnel.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in HSE is preferred. Required Associates degree in HSE or certification as one or more of the following: BCSP OHST, BCSP CHST, NCCER Construction Safety Technician, NCCER Safety Technology, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the management of safety and health processes
- A minimum of 3 years of management level experience
- Industrial, Manufacturing and Construction experience preferred
- Demonstrated collegiate-level computer skills, communication skills, and technical writing, with an aptitude for mastering the additional skills required of the position
- Must be willing to travel to other jobsites within the supporting region
