Job Description – Security Guard
A security guard's job is to monitor a property for safety and security, and to respond to any emergencies. Security guards are often the first to notice and act on security issues.
Responsibilities
- Patrol: Regularly inspect and patrol the premises
- Monitor: Monitor surveillance cameras, entrances, and exits
- Control access: Authorize who can enter and exit the property
- Respond to alarms: Respond to alarms and other emergencies in a timely manner
- Report: Report any suspicious activity, incidents, or irregularities
- Provide assistance: Assist people in need, provide information, and guide traffic
- Secure: Secure doors, windows, and other entrances
- Complete reports: Document all observations and incidents in reports
- Be a deterrent: Be a visible deterrent to crime and rule infractions
Skills
- Communication: Have excellent communication skills
- Proactive: Be proactive and attentive during working hours
- Independent: Be able to work independently
