Position Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Pathologist for a locum tenens opportunity in Michigan. This hospital-based role requires a skilled professional comfortable with a wide range of cases, including grossing specimens, cutting frozen sections, and handling neuropathology cases.
Position Details :Monday through Friday, 8 AM 5 PM
- Call : Rotating weekly (Friday 5 PM the following Friday 8 AM)
- Orientation : One day prior to start
- Start Date : As soon as credentialed
- EMR : Allscripts Sunrise
- Dictation Tools : NovoPath
- Read 35-50 cases per day, including :
- Anatomic Pathology : Surgical, GI pathology, GU pathology, Neuropathology, Dermatopathology, Hematopathology, Cytology
- Perform procedures : Hematology, microbiology, chemistry / serology, blood bank
- Manage neurosurgical frozen sections during daytime and on-call hours
- Alternate duties daily with a full-time pathologist (biopsy / surgical cases vs. cytology, frozen sections, grossing, etc.)
- Team includes 1 full-time pathologist, histotechnologists, and additional staff for cytology, frozen sections, and procedures.
- AP / CP Board Certification
- Relevant experience preferred
- Ability to gross specimens and cut frozen sections on Cryostat
- Case log required for credentialing
- Will consider providers under IMLC or those awaiting licensure
