Position Overview :
Austin NOW is seeking a dedicated and passionate Racial Justice Volunteer Social Media Coordinator to join our team. The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for managing and curating online content, promoting events, and creating educational posts to raise awareness of racial justice issues and initiatives. This volunteer position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful social change and be a key voice in advancing our racial justice goals.
Key Responsibilities :
Content Creation : Develop engaging and informative social media content (posts, graphics, videos, etc.) to support racial justice initiatives, educational campaigns, and events.
- Event Promotion : Create and schedule social media posts to promote Austin NOW’s events, workshops, and campaigns related to racial justice.
- Engagement : Foster online engagement by responding to comments, questions, and messages, encouraging community participation in discussions and events.
- Campaign Strategy : Collaborate with the Racial Justice Committee to align social media efforts with ongoing campaigns and strategic objectives.
- Brand Consistency : Ensure all content aligns with the mission, values, and voice of Austin NOW.
- Reporting : Track social media engagement, growth, and impact to assess the success of campaigns and refine future strategies.
Required Qualifications :
Passion for racial justice and a commitment to intersectional feminism.
Preferred Qualifications :
Familiarity with social media analytics tools (e.g., Facebook Insights, Instagram Analytics).
Time Commitment :
5-10 hours per week (flexible schedule)
