POSITION SUMMARY:

The Controller is to assist the CFO in the financial management of the facility, as well as monitor and guide the operations of Accounts Payable, Payroll, EDP and Central Supply to ensure accurate statements on the financial operation of the facility.

Qualifications:

Essential Job Duties:


  • Comply with all Administrative, Clinical, and Human Resources policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Must actively support the mission, philosophy, and goals for the hospital.
  • Must be able to communicate with sensitivity to growth, development, and cultural issues.
  • Journal Entries and financial analysis as assigned
  • Monitors the financial services department ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Reports all information timely and accurately to internal and external customers.
  • Records all activity to the General Ledger and Fixed Asset systems and maintains appropriate subsidiary ledgers.
  • Maintains accurate Capital Expenditure Request logs.
  • Maintains corporate Accounts Payable and reviews/corrects GL allocations.
  • Reconciles all inventory accounts on an annual basis through a physical inventory.
  • Prepares cash reconciliations in conjunction with Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Depository.
  • Maintains professional demeanor in dress, attitude, support of unit milieu, and hospital mission and philosophy.


SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Good verbal and written skills, ability to act calmly and professionally in all interactions with employees, patient, and visitors. Must be able to use the telephone in a courteous and professional manner. Must maintain confidentiality of patient information.


EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting, business management or a related area. Minimum of 21 credits on accounting and 6 credits of data processing.


LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current Driver’s License or State issued Id.


EXPERIENCE: Five years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare accounting or business management.
