Northern Hub Adoption Coordinator
About Us:
Would you like to be a part of making history? Austin Pets Alive (APA!) is a leading animal rescue and welfare organization. Reimagining animal services from our headquarters in Austin, Texas, we help communities throughout the nation! As a grassroots, revolutionary nonprofit organization, APA! creates and sustains innovative programs that save the lives of tens of thousands of pets each year, while providing support to the humans who love them. We have also received public recognition for our professional expertise in areas such as philanthropy, marketing, shelter operations and more!
Not only have we celebrated 100,000 lives saved in 2022, we have built a sustainable model in Austin that has led the way for our city becoming the largest No Kill city in the country. After more than a decade of success, we are teaching other shelters and organizations how to follow our life saving formula.
APA!, and its sub-brands American Pets Alive! (AmPA!), Texas Pets Alive! (TPA!) and Human Animal Support Services (HASS), have grown tremendously over the years, and have influenced animal welfare legislation, established animal sheltering best practices and reimagined human animal support services across the nation.
About The Position:
The Adoption Coordinator - Northern Hub plays a vital role in saving lives by providing hands-on animal care, facilitating adoptions and foster placements, and serving as a key connection between the Austin hub transport team and adopters. Based at the Petco Adoption Center in Huntersville, NC, this role provides hands-on animal care while ensuring a smooth and positive foster and adoption experience. A significant part of this position is working alongside volunteers as a teammate, guiding them in daily care and adoption facilitation to maximize efficiency and lifesaving impact. This role is instrumental in establishing and expanding a Direct to Adopter (D2A) model for Austin Pets Alive! (APA!), increasing the save rate for APA!’s target shelters. The Adoption Coordinator will ensure that all animals at the center receive the highest standard of care while also focusing on building a strong foster and adoption network.
