Job Overview
We are a small Reggio Influenced, Play-Based preschool located in Central Austin. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of childhood development and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, managing classroom dynamics, and providing individualized support to children in their early developmental stages.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that promotes literacy education and overall childhood development.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and established guidelines.
- Provide care for toddlers, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met throughout the day.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to discuss children's progress and address any concerns regarding their development.
- Incorporate Montessori principles into daily activities to encourage independent learning and exploration.
- Support children with special education needs by adapting lessons and providing additional resources as necessary.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience working in daycare or classroom settings with young children is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of childhood development and Conscious Discipline.
- Strong skills in curriculum development that fosters literacy education and holistic growth.
- Ability to engage children effectively.
- Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic approach towards teaching young children.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
