What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training Specialist position at Austin Powder Red Diamond?
The Training Specialist is a member of the Operations team and is responsible for developing, delivering, monitoring, and identifying process improvements with Company/location sponsored training initiatives. This person will partner with all departments to ensure that employees are trained to Austin Powder standards. Training areas will include new hire orientation, safety, compliance, work processes, successful employee habits, etc.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensures training records are up to date and include the tracking and reporting of training delivered.
- Oversees the training of new hires to ensure they are being trained properly for all required departments and positions.
- Works with department leads and supervisors to observe employees and determine effectiveness of training programs and ensure that any additional training requirements are fulfilled.
- Exhibit and practice positive communications and team building skills with new hires to ensure a consistently professional environment that is aligned with Austin Powder's core values.
- Foster a mindset of continued learning at all levels and departments at the site.
- Creates and maintains content, manuals, and other training materials.
- Work within the HR and Operations functions on a variety of initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Two to four years in a training role, preferably in a diverse environment (i.e., mfg, corporate, etc).
- Associates or Business degree; experience in lieu of education is acceptable.
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Thorough understanding of training processes.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools, including Microsoft Teams.
Communication Skills
- Ability to communicate with and present to team members across levels of the organization.
- Must possess solid written and oral communication skills.
Work Environment
- This is a manufacturing location; work will be done on the production floor or in an office/training room.
- Minimal travel to the Corporate office in Cleveland, Ohio for required meetings or training.
