Position Overview

Reports to: Director of Marketing

Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends

Location: Austin, Texas


Core Responsibilities

The Patron Services & Ticketing Manager ensures optimal revenue through efficient box office operations, exceptional customer service, and strategic sales initiatives.


 Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years box office experience
  • 3 years management experience preferred
  • Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with cash handling and staff scheduling
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible schedule availability (evenings, weekends, holidays)


Box Office Management

  • Supervise and work hands-on with box office staff and volunteers
  • Handle customer concerns professionally while adhering to ASO policies
  • Oversee box office operations during performances and special events
  • Process season tickets, single tickets, and group sales
  • Manage complimentary ticket requests
  • Reconcile daily sales and receipts with the ticketing system


 Technical & Systems Management

  • Build and maintain concerts, packages, venues, and series charts in ticketing software
  • Serve as primary Tessitura system administrator
  • Coordinate with ticketing software support for technical issues
  • Generate weekly sales reports for leadership
  • Perform monthly reconciliations with Finance Department


Strategic Initiatives

  • Collaborate with Marketing Director on sales promotions and subscription campaigns
  • Work with Telemarketing Manager on subscription processing
  • Manage Symphony Store operations
  • Partner with Development team on patron-related initiatives
  • Train and document procedures for box office personnel


Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years Tessitura CRM software experience
  • 3 years performing arts industry experience
  • Classical music knowledge
  • Experience with cross-departmental data management
