Details below: Seasonal Animal Care Technician - FULL TIME DAY and FULL TIME NIGHT shifts
Job Location
- Rehabilitation Center 111 Elbow Bend, Elgin, TX 78621
- Day shift staff are scheduled for four shifts a week starting at 6am.
- Night shift staff are scheduled for four shifts a week starting at 2pm.
- ALL Animal Care staff work every other weekend (Sat & Sun).
- This is a very physical job that requires a lot of movement and the ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Cleaning cages
- Feeding animals
- Administering medications
- Maintaining care plans for injured animals
- Providing direction/guidance to interns and volunteers
- Assisting the public with animals they bring to our facility.
- Adhering to protocols for animal care and safety
- Communicating needs and issues effectively with coworkers and supervisors
- Following instructions
- A degree in wildlife management or related field is preferred, but not required.
- A year of experience working with wildlife is preferred, but not required.
- Proof of Tetanus vaccine up to date (within the last 10 years) is required and the cost is the responsibility of the employee.
