What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Grade Recovery (6-8) Science position at Austintown Local Schools?
AEA requests (internal applications) will be accepted online until 2:00 pm on 4/3/2025
NOTE: The number of positions will be determined by student enrollment.
Compensation: $25 per hour in accordance with the AEA CBA
Meeting: Potential after-school meeting before school is out
Program Training: One (1) day during the week of May 26, 8am-3pm
Program Runs: June 2 through June 27 from 7:45 am - 1:30 pm (no school on June 19)
Program Overview: May include up to four (4) hours of direct instruction per day
Qualifications:
Responsibilities and Expectations:
Employees must follow all board policies, all state, and federal laws, and adhere to the Ohio Code of Ethics set up by the Ohio Department of Education. Subject to all applicable laws, essential job functions of this position include the employee being punctual and capable of completing all of the duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications:
- Appropriate and valid Ohio Teaching License:
- (4-9) Science
- (6-12) Integrated Science
- (7-12) All Science Areas
- (K-12) Integrated Science
- Staff members currently teaching in grade levels (6-8) and subject area preferred
Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Perform all duties/responsibilities in accordance with Austintown Local School District Policy and Procedures
- Follow and execute the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Summer School Principal, Building Principal, Director of Curriculum, and/or Superintendent
Requirements: The following are required prior to starting the assignment
- Appropriate and valid Ohio teaching credential
- Current favorable State and Federal background checks
- Official Sealed Transcripts
- Negative drug screen
