Your duties begin with insurance adjusters, customers, and staff to assure an adequate sales volume. Provides a reasonable operating profit and maintains customer satisfaction principles while controlling costs. Lead the activities of body shop employees in performing body repairs, including meeting time schedules and productivity levels and maintaining excellent quality standards.
Required Role - Essential Duties
- Projects goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them.
- Hires, trains, motivates and monitors the performance of all body shop employees.
- Produce and administers a quaterly operating budget for the body shop.
- Lead and help guide productivity all body shop employees.
- Create and maintains excellent relationships with insurance appraisers.
- Create and maintains excellent relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
- Brainstorm marketing plans to increase body shop business.
- Oversee technicians' daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.
- Gives fair estimates on costs and time required for body work.
- Follows up with parts department orders to ensure parts availability.
- Oversees progress and completion of vehicles in the shop, ensuring that proper repair and safety procedures are followed.
- Maintains high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
- Quality control checks of completed work.
- Handles customer complaints immediately and according to company policies.
- Oversee paper flow to ensure that all documents are accounted for, filled out completely and legibly and filed or distributed to the appropriate parties.
- Oversee final billing for completed repair orders.
- Controls accounts receivables for body repair work.
- Comprehends, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc. Provides necessary training.
- Make certain that proper safety equipment is available and being used properly.
- Facilitates and/or conducts technical training and sends employees to appropriate training schools as needed.
- Oversee the maintenance of paint booths, frame straightening equipment, and all equipment to ensure long-term usage and value.
- Keeps in line of new equipment and tools available and recommends purchases.
- Oversees that the work areas and customer waiting area are kept clean.
- Attends managers meetings.
- Maintains professional appearance at all times.
- Other tasks as assigned

Required Role- Education and/or Experience.
- Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
