As a Revenue Cycle Specialist, you will be responsible for revenue cycle management (RCM) tasks that include but not limited to manual charge entry, claims submission, A/R follow-up, file appeals/disputes, complete medical records request from payers, payment posting, collections, build relationships with partners that work with Author Health Professionals, PC on coding and revenue cycle tasks, and other revenue cycle tasks that will improve cashflow and meet the goals of the practice.

As a Revenue Cycle Specialist, you will be responsible for revenue cycle management (RCM) tasks that include but not limited to manual charge entry, claims submission, A/R follow-up, file appeals/disputes, complete medical records request from payers, payment posting, collections, build relationships with partners that work with Author Health Professionals, PC on coding and revenue cycle tasks, and other revenue cycle tasks that will improve cashflow and meet the goals of the practice.
WHAT IS YOUR SUPERPOWER?
- Daily task of reviewing coded visit notes and submission to the PMS.
- Review and complete the tasks in Candid assigned to Author Health Professionals, PC.
- A/R follow-up, appeals, and claim disputes assigned in Candid to AH.
- Review recoupment requests in Availity and act accordingly to resolve.
- Import remittances received in Candid and correct posting issues identified on each check.
- Monitor pre- and post- payment medical records requests in Availity and complete the requests.
- Serves as the subject matter expert and "go to" person for all coding, billing and collections processes.
Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of medical billing, collections and payment posting, revenue cycle,third-party payers, Medicare.
- Well versed in CPT and ICD10 codes and procedural modifiers, claim forms, HIPAA, billing and insurance regulations, medical terminology, insurance benefits and appeal processes.
- Proficient with EMR software, Excel, Google sheets, and clearinghouse portals.
- Minimum 3-5 years with professional billing at a medical practice (non-facility based).
- Same level experience with the claims processing from charge entry to the closure of claim with payment which includes billing, collections, denials and appeals.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and practice management is required.
- Ability to deal with patients and staff with tact and diplomacy, capacity to deal with severely ill patients.
- Certified Professional Biller, Certified Medical Billing Specialist, or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialists.
- Work experience will be considered in place of certification.
- Mental Health/Behavioral Health billing experience
