What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Assistant position at Author Jess L. M. Anderson?
I am an indie author and content creator located out of Southern Georgia who is looking for someone to help with marketing, graphic/print design, markets/festivals/conventions, updating my online store, and helping prep items for events. This would start as a temporary, contracted position, but with the right candidate could turn into a long term contracted one.
Your main duties will include:
- Helping with events such as festivals, conventions, and signings.
- Loading/unloading supplies for events.
- Running the POS system.
- Helping with table prep, such as wrapping blind bags, packaging, etc.
- Updating the online e-commerce store.
- Updating social media while at events.
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Updating website (Wix experience a bonus).
- Researching trends in books communities.
- Researching events for me to attend.
- Influencer marketing.
- Capturing photos and videos for social media.
- Creating graphics for social media and advertisement.
- Creating marketing materials.
- And MORE!
These books have a small but dedicated fan base. No prior experience with publishing is needed, but keep in mind your first task will be to read/listen to all books currently out in the series. So someone who enjoys reading is a must!
This job will require travel. Though most events this candidate would be asked to attend will be local events, travel to Northern GA, Florida, and Alabama may be required. I try to keep all events within a 4 hour radius of Tifton, GA.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $8.00 - $11.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 15 per week
