Our ice cream has garnered a loyal following at farmers markets, our Ashburn storefront, festivals, and private events.

The Role

Join our team as a Farmers Market Staff Member and become the face of Authors in the community. You’ll represent our brand at local markets by delivering warm customer experiences, scooping our beloved small-batch ice cream, and ensuring smooth setup and teardown of our cart operations. This is a great opportunity for those looking to gain responsibility, customer service experience, and be part of a fun and growing brand rooted in community.

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down the ice cream cart and booth at farmers market locations
• Serve and scoop our premium ice cream with a high level of care and consistency
• Maintain food safety and hygiene standards throughout the shift
• Greet and interact with customers, providing an excellent and enthusiastic service experience
• Handle cash and operate point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately
• Keep the workspace organized, tidy, and inviting
• Represent the Authors brand with professionalism and positivity

Qualifications

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work early mornings on weekends
• Friendly and engaging attitude with a love for serving customers
• Physically able to assist with cart setup and takedown (some lifting required)
• Responsible and mature—able to work independently or with a small team
• Comfortable handling money and basic sales transactions
• Previous food service experience is a plus, but not required

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
