Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated and passionate Teachers to join our educational team. This role involves developing and implementing engaging lesson plans focused both on academics and life skills (communication, social skills, independent functioning, emotion regulation) and supporting the educational growth of students.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans that align with educational standards.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, utilizing positive reinforcement strategies.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing and provide individualized support as needed.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other educators to promote student success.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behavior.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is preferred.
- FDOE certification in ESE and Elementary Education.
- Experience working with children with autism in a classroom setting.
- Strong skills in curriculum development and lesson planning.
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and other methodologies for teaching students with autism to support diverse learning needs.
- Familiarity with standardized testing practices and assessment strategies.
- Ability to create engaging activities that promote foundational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
