Role Description
This is a full-time remote role (except on rare occasions may need to attend an autism event) for an Executive Director at the Autism Society of Florida (who must in Florida). The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing daily operations, leading FUNDRAISING efforts, managing budgets, and ensuring the organization's mission is carried out effectively. (Primary skill must be in fundraising)

Qualifications
- Planned Giving, Annual Giving, and Philanthropy skills
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, and experience in budgeting and financial management.
- Experience in budgeting and fundraising
- Proven track record in successful fundraising campaigns
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of the non-profit sector and autism advocacy is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, Master's degree preferred
The Executive Director is responsible for maintaining the policies set forth by the Autism Society, the affiliate board of directors and for the overall direction of the affiliate’s growth, development, and implementation of its strategic plan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Management/Fiscal:
● Assure that the affiliate has a long-range strategy which achieves its mission, and toward which it makes consistent and timely progress.
● Provide leadership in developing program, organizational and financial plans with the board of directors, and carry out plans and policies authorized by the board.
● Responsible for developing and maintaining sound financial practices.
● Work with the board in preparing, maintaining and monitoring the annual budget.
● Provide leadership in development and implementation of a fundraising plan that maximizes opportunities from key community, corporate, government, and related sectors.
● Ensure that adequate funds are available to permit the organization to carry out its work, which includes attracting additional revenue through grants, foundations, and other direct fundraising activities.
● Maintain official records and documents, and ensure compliance with Autism Society, federal, state and local regulations.
Community and Public Relations:
● Promote active and broad participation by volunteers in all areas of the affiliate’s work.
● Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with other local, regional, state and national autism and disability organizations.
● Represent affiliate on local, statewide, and national committees, which impact autism and developmental disability legislative policy.
● Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the autism and developmental disability field.
● Keep the board fully informed on the condition of the organization and all important factors influencing it.
● Publicize the activities of the organization, its programs and goals.
● Represent the programs and point of view of the Autism Society to agencies, organizations, and to the general public.
Human Resource Management:
● Be responsible for the recruitment, employment, and release of all personnel, both paid staff and volunteers.
● Hire, supervise, and conduct evaluations of staff.
● Jointly, with the president and secretary of the board of directors, conduct official correspondence of the organization, and jointly, with designated officers, execute legal documents.
