Job Description
The Autism Society of Greater Wisconsin (ASGW) is a non-profit organization serving the Autism community in a 53-county service area. With a mission of creating connections, empowering everyone in the Autism community with the resources needed to live fully, the Autism Society of Greater Wisconsin provides services to the Autism community through five core program areas: Support, Education, Advocacy, Information & Referral, and Community Outreach.
The Program Director will work in partnership with the Executive Director to direct the Autism Society of Greater Wisconsin’s programs within the core services of support, education, and community outreach. The Program Director is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating programs within these areas, ensuring that programs are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans and implements service delivery of core programs, in collaboration with other staff, committees and community partners.
- Works directly with the Executive Director to strategize, coordinate and implement current and new programs.
- Coordinates Annual Conference and manages other educational programming.
- Works with the Executive Director to develop and coordinate the Autism Friendly Communities program, in addition to other community outreach initiatives.
- Coordinates volunteers and facilitators for monthly, virtual events. Works with other staff to promote outreach and marketing for these events.
- Provides a high level of customer service to internal and external stakeholders and audiences to build and strengthen program initiatives.
- Works with the Executive Director to build and maintain strong, positive relationships with individuals, families and related organizations.
- Coordinates program evaluations and identifies opportunities for continual improvement.
- Develops and adheres to program budgets.
- Manages and supervises programming staff/team.
- Works with the Executive Director and other staff to identify and pursue grants and other funding for programs.
- Identifies and pursues outreach opportunities to increase awareness/understanding of Autism and the Autism Society of Greater Wisconsin.
- Responds to community needs and feedback by proposing new ideas, initiatives and partnerships to serve the Autism community.
- Provides support and assistance in planning, developing, producing, and delivering marketing and communications materials.
- Supports the Autism Society of Greater Wisconsin’s local chapters with program development as needed.
- Assists with special events and projects as needed.
- Attends and supports agency-wide fundraising and community events.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of the Autistic community.
- Experience planning or coordinating events.
- Experience and proficiency with commonly used software; Google Suite, Microsoft, Canva.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with donor management software.
- Excellent organizational skills and time management skills.
- Ability to compile data accurately.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with other staff in a team-oriented environment.
- Passion for the Autism Society’s mission of creating connections, empowering everyone in the Autism community with the resources needed to live fully.
- Flexibility, creativity, initiative, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Some regional and statewide travel is required. Must be willing and able to travel regionally and statewide.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
