Are you looking for an unforgettable experience in Summer 2025? Are you considering a future career in Recreation Therapy, Outdoor Education, Psychology, Speech or Occupational Therapy, or Special Education?
Camp Royall, located in Pittsboro, NC, and owned and operated by the Autism Society of North Carolina, offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and adults with autism while gaining invaluable hands-on experience!
LOCATION: Candidates from Raleigh/Triangle area, Apex, Holly Springs, etc.
Must be able to travel to and from camp for scheduled shifts.
What You Will Do:
As a Camp Royall Lifeguard, you will:
Maintain the pool and the safety and well-being of campers and staff, while they take part in activities around at the pool.
Work closely with fellow staff members to ensure an enriching and positive camp experience.
Comprehensive Training Provided:
Dates: Coursework offered May 20 through May 30, 2025 as scheduled
Includes online and in-person sessions to equip you with the skills and knowledge to support campers effectively.
Schedule:
- Staff Training: May 20 through May 30, 2025
- First Half of Summer (4 weeks): June 1 through June 27, 2025
- Vacation Week: June 29 through July 4, 2025
- Second Half of Summer (5 weeks): July 6 through August 8, 2025
- Adult Retreat: August 10 through August 15, 2025

- Must be 16 years of age at the start of employment.
- CPR/Lifeguard certification preferred, not required. Training is provided as needed.
- Demonstrate a desire and ability to learn and be taught about autism and approaches for managing the challenges associated with it.
- Be patient, energetic, fun-loving, and hard-working, and a sense of humor doesn't hurt!
- Be flexible and able to work well with others, maintain open and effective communication.
- Be accepting and respectful of those who think, behave, and interact differently than what is considered normal.
Qualifications

- Lifeguard experience preferred, not required.
