Position Summary
Coordinates the planning and scheduling of materials, parts, units for manufacturing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities – includes the following, but other tasks may be assigned.
· Effectively communicates with manufacturing, operations, purchasing, sales, engineering and material departments.
· Ensure MRP planning data is correct. Make updates as required to part setup for ERP system. Managing min lot size/max lot size/multiple and days of supply.
· Analyzes the requirements of the components, determines the quantity and date parts are needed to meet production requirements while balancing inventory goals.
· Establishes and maintains a professional working relationship with all internal customers.
· Work with Engineering on ECN’s (Engineering Change Notifications) and communicate requirements to operations when jobs are affected.
· Sales order review for approval daily of all manufactured parts/units entered the previous business day. Ensure ship date entered is achievable. Communicate changes with sales team.
· Facilitates regular production meetings with cross-functional team discussing capacity concerns, machine issues related to downtime, etc. that can affect customer delivery and lead time validation.
· Maintain accurate job load reporting by updating job routings in ERP system when warranted due to machine downtime or other concerns. Directions to be provided by manufacturing.
· Coordinate with procurement any material delays that may affect customer shipments/lead time.
· Coordinate with sales any shipping delays so customers can be notified.
· Level load assembly lines.
· Maintain forecasts provided by sales team in ERP system.
· Job closing in ERP system. Work with operations team to resolve any open issues preventing job closing.
Supervisory Responsibilities
· This position has no direct personnel supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience
The ideal candidate will have 3 years’ planning experience. A Bachelor’s Degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university is preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Production Planning / Scheduling.
Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) and/or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) advantageous.
