Auto Driveaway, one of the largest professional driveaway companies in the US, is seeking a dedicated, skilled Safety Supervisor to join our team in Elkhart, IN. Reporting directly to the Director of Safety & Recruiting, the Safety Supervisor will be responsible overseeing and enforcing all safety aspects of the transportation department, including driver training, vehicle inspections, accident investigations, compliance and regulations monitoring, while implementing safety policies to minimize risk to the organization. - Developing a comprehensive driver training program to conduct training and evaluation.
- Conduct behind-the-wheel evaluations.
- Monitor driver performance while identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensuring adherence to all federal, state and company safety regulations regarding vehicle maintenance, driver qualifications, hours of service and reporting requirements.
- Oversee vehicle inspections programs to ensure vehicles and drivers are safe and in compliance.
- Implement transportation safety policies and procedures, including guidelines for safe driving practices, reporting procedures and emergency response.
- Generate reports to identify areas of concern and inform safety initiatives.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions to educate drivers and other transportations team members regarding procedures and best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure safety is integrated across Auto Driveaway.
Requirements:
- In-depth understanding of transportation regulations, industry best practices, and potential safety hazards.
- Proven ability to identify safety risks, develop preventative measures, and conduct thorough investigations.
- Effective communication, ability to train and mentor drivers while motivating employees to prioritize safety.
- Data analysis skills to interpret trends and identify areas for improvement in safety performance.
- Understanding of relevant regulations and ability to ensure compliance with legal requirements.

- Experience as a commercial driver, fleet manager, or safety coordinator within the transportation industry (preferred)
