Job Summary:
The Automotive Service Advisor will act as the main point of contact between the customer and the service department. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of automotive repair, excellent communication skills, and a passion for customer service. The Service Advisor will schedule repairs and maintenance, offer service recommendations, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, assessing their service needs and answering any questions.
- Provide customers with accurate estimates for vehicle services and repairs.
- Schedule service appointments and ensure timely completion of work.
- Explain technical details of repairs and maintenance to customers in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Advise customers on recommended services, including routine maintenance and potential repairs.
- Coordinate with technicians and parts department to ensure timely and quality repairs.
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, service history, and repairs.
- Process customer payments and handle billing inquiries.
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest vehicle technology and service techniques.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and customer-friendly service department environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or certifications in Automotive Technology is a plus).
- Previous experience as a Service Advisor, Service Writer, or similar role in the automotive industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repairs and maintenance procedures.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient with computer systems and service management software (Tek Metric).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
